The Mechanical Engineering department leads in the mechanical hardware design, development, and production of weapons systems. We use state-of-the-art tools, processes, and technology, with capabilities encompassing a broad range of technical disciplines, including product engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials engineering, analysis and test, rapid hardware development/builds and configuration and data management documentation. The Rapid Hardware Solutions department is a quick turn organization that performs design and build of prototype hardware, test equipment, trainers, and hydraulics assemblies within the Mechanical Engineering team. This role is for a Planning and Production Control Specialist to execute materials management tasking across the lifecycle of the programs that the department supports. This position is in Tewksbury, MA. (On-site position) The Senior Planning and Production Control Specialist is responsible for planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling production material in support of established schedules. It includes evaluating and coordinating program requirements to ensure a controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements. As such, this role is responsible for providing production control leadership through all phases of the program and product life cycle. Responsibilities to anticipate:
- Responsible for Material Planning and Production Control functions on high mix / low volume Production and Development programs.
- Executes the program to meet the customer’s requirements and the delivery of product to the contract schedule.
- Oversees / manages the supply chain process from program start through contract closure.
- Assesses supply resources, aggregates, and prioritizes demand requirements, plans inventory, kitting requirements, production, material, and rough-cut capacity for all products.
- Analyzes and aggregates purchase material supply / demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
- Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill of Material (BOM) requirements.
- Participates in build schedule generation to ensure proper scheduling of program requirements.
- Generates purchase requisitions and purchase order placement through supply chain.
- Analyzes the inventory position against the material requirements and determines the critical part of procured materials and subassemblies.
- Controls and coordinates disposition of subassemblies and materials affected by Engineering Change Notices.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years professional relevant experience
- Material analysis experience working within an MRP system or similar systems.
- Experience with SAP, PRISM and/or related tools.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience using Rapid Response and VBS
- Ability to analyze demands and coordinate multiple groups to work to a schedule.
- Ability to communicate in meetings that require presentations and review of complex data.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage, plan, and coordinate multiple projects within schedule deadlines.
- Attention to detail when creating documents (to include shipping documentation) and when performing data entry using business system tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of Line of Balance (LOB) and scheduling tools.
- Ability to collaborate with a wide range of people.
- Prior experience managing supply chain professionals.
- Understanding of Raytheon Global Supply Chain Procedures
- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
- Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
- Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
