OnsiteThis position is for a seasoned professional in Facilities, who works independently, implements
requisite changes of new or modified plans.
Oversees construction project management by planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating
functional business unit activities to achieve cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Cedar Rapids, IA.
What YOU Will Do:
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility working with Projects Budget: of $1M+
- Leads a team of 8-14 facilities professionals in the project management and planning disciplines.
- Provides construction project management for several large-sized projects concurrently, which may occur in multiple locales simultaneously.
- On strategic projects, may have more senior team members but potentially smaller staff size and/or partially loan subject matter experts (SMEs)
- Interface with, direct and coordinate project-related development in multiple locations, with production and services of several subcontractors
- Project accountability: direction of project efforts. Directing, authorizing, and controlling project related development, subsystem or systems efforts
- Control customer interface and communication with all levels of management. Lead and direct broad organizational projects. Fulfill complex contract obligations
- Achieve cost, schedule, performance goals by providing leadership and direction of all project efforts. Plan, organize and schedule project tasks
- Authorize, direct, coordinate, and status progress. Accountable for performance (in-house and other). Problem anticipation and avoidance, revises project plans as permitted by policy and project requirements.
- Inputs accurate project cost information into appropriate business system.
- May estimate, review and/or approve costs.
- Thorough understanding of Project Management practices and construction
- Demonstrates leadership skills
- Results oriented with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of company and customers.
- Implements requisite changes relative to facility or equipment specifications and organization or government restrictions to ensure compliance with the norms
- Inspects or reviews projects to evaluate compliance with building and safety codes or other regulations to ensure a safe workplace
- Participates in cross-functional teams to ensure building security and safety at multiple sites
- Performs, or recommends contractors to perform, prebuilding assessments such as conceptual cost estimating, rough order of magnitude estimating, feasibility, or energy assessments
- Plans, organizes, and schedules activities, which may include maintenance, construction, renovation, and repair of organization facilities, to ensure proper functioning of facilities
- Plans, designs, and reconfigures equipment, machinery, buildings, and structures to ensure the optimal utilization of the organization's facilities
- Assesses and evaluates the physical space requirements of the organization and recommends plans to meet needs
- Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility
- Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs
- Manages facilities contractor management process
- Concisely scale presentations for various levels of leadership and trades

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
