About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use):13 S&P Dow Jones Indices seeks to add a key member to our Technology Leadership Team reporting directly to the Head of Technology Governance, Operations, and BA. This person will play a pivotal role in strategically supporting the broader technology operations and provide robust visibility and transparency to executive stakeholders across the organization. These efforts are occurring within the broader context of major strategic initiatives to extend our market leadership, enhance customer experience, and implement next-generation software technology. In short, it represents an exciting and visible opportunity to join our team during a dynamic period of fundamental organizational and operational changes. We are looking for a pro-active and forward-thinking Director of Technology Governance & Operations that is well versed in Technology Governance, Decision Support Metrics, Project Management, Change Management, Operational Metrics, Continuous Improvements and SDLC. This is a leadership position focusing on planning and executing a broad range of technology initiatives. This position is tasked with establishing and implementing robust procedures with appropriate controls, metrics and evidence for the effectiveness of the technology organization. Analyze and provide data to support key strategic decisions. The role will ensure that we are hyper transparent with technology & business leadership. Manage and execute the CTO’s communication and engagement strategy, including blog writing and talking points and deck creation, and manage engagement calendars and agendas. Coordinate the Technology Leadership Team agendas. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Technology Governance, Operations, and BA to implement the department's strategic vision, goals, and objectives.
- Collaborate with the Head of Technology Governance, Operations, and BA to define and execute on the technology governance and operational framework, define operational excellence and best practices.
- Develop and lead the operational roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall company strategy and engineering priorities.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration, fostering a cohesive working environment between technology and other relevant departments.
- Cultivates deep and highly effective relationships within a dynamic environment spanning many teams and efforts. Inspire trust, teamwork and work collaboratively with peers, business operations, product management, information security teams, engineering teams, agile office and 3rd party vendors across the globe.
- Provide transparency into the technology organization’s book of work and implement procedures and tools to effectively manage work intake, prioritization and reporting.
- Develop and bring valuable insights and analysis to the leadership team, enabling data-driven decision making.
- You will define and implement appropriate KPI’s & SLA’s and provide weekly, monthly and quarterly operational dashboards for executives providing hyper transparency on hiring and recruiting, software project delivery, SDLC effectiveness, vendor management, information security, budget management and employee training.
- Build out a CTO Dashboard for decision support and the technology organization’s wiki/SharePoint sites.
- Manage the Technology Leadership Team meeting, track and drive action items and deliverables.
- Own the “list of open points/task list” with priorities for assignments, as well as, follow up with the owners to bring to closure.
- Assessment and governance of operational efficiencies and productivity opportunities, as well as the change management that goes with implementation.
- Lead or support major change initiatives to optimize the strategy, focus, alignment, and accountability
- Present to senior executives and stakeholders on technology and organizational initiatives.
- Prepare various executive management reports to support business operations and decision making.
- Partner with communications team on strategy, leadership messages, forums, and speaking events.
- Be a culture carrier in getting stuff done by displaying ownership, accountability, transparency and proactiveness.
- Partner with stakeholders ensuring critical and appropriate topics are presented to the leadership team for awareness, discussion and/or decision making.

- Bachelor's degree, with an Master’s in management or MBA preferred.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in technology management in a software engineering environment.
- Strong data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional analytical and root causing skills with a high degree on actionable insights.
- Experience in managing budgets and headcount planning.
- Proficiency in BI reporting with tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps and SDLC reporting metrics.
- Proficiency with portfolio management tools.
- Proficiency with building out SharePoint sites and Wikis.
- Team player with excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively.
- Ability to work independently, stay hyper-focused, and prioritize work effectively.
