We are looking for a talented Quality Technician to join our team specializing in Quality for our Components Business Segment in Frankfort, KY. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Supports Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs; assists in monitor materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; ensures maintenance of documentation and records.
- Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
- Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality).
- Records results and prepare simple technical reports.
- Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment.
- Provides advanced programming, training, and operation of measurement and test equipment.
- Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the measurement and test equipment.
- Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, “Metrology” e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.
- Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.
- Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
- Prior quality experience.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Email. Excellent writing skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
