About you
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a thirst for knowledge and a keen interest in software engineering who are passionate about the latest technologies for developing scalable and user-friendly web products. If you have a strong foundation in computer science or related disciplines and a desire to join us and learn how we build our platforms and features, we are interested in talking to you.
About this role
As a Software Engineering summer intern with the payments team, you will work with a high-performing team creating the next-gen payments platform that handles millions of dollars every day. You will be a part of the complete SDLC of these mission-critical products covering design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to the process of defining, designing new features in a highly collaborative agile environment
- Design, specify and implement new features and services
- Participate in code reviews making sure that our code is well designed, tested, robust, secure, performant and readable
- Documenting, monitoring and maintaining new features post-release
We’re excited about you because you have:
- 3rd-year students or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering Science or equivalent practical experience
- Both creative and analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of OO design and programming
- Demonstrated knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Understanding of testing concepts
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Passion to learn new technologies
Additional competencies that will help you succeed in this role:
- Familiarity with RESTful services
- Some experience or interest in object-oriented programming languages and frameworks, such as Python, Kotlin, Django, Spring Boot
- Some experience or interest in web application development in technologies such as HTTP, HTML/CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript/React
- Some experience or interest in working with databases, either relational or NoSQL
