Job Summary: Raytheon Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) Systems Engineering department in Goleta, California is seeking an Engineering Fellow - EW Systems Architect committed and passionate about creating innovative and cost-effective mission solutions to support the Global Spectrum Dominance business area relating to Electronic Support (ES) and Electronic Attack (EA) capability development. This position is an onsite role. Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- You will define the program system functions, develop the system architecture, and allocate system functions to architectural elements to ensure the completeness and integrity of the architecture models.
- You will conduct tradeoffs to determine relative requirement priorities, acceptable performance, cost, and schedule taking into account such factors as technology risk, projected market size, likely competitive moves, economic trends, political regulatory requirements, project organization, stakeholder concerns, and the appropriate quality attributes of the system.
- You will manage hardware and software design compliance to the architecture throughout the lifecycle of the project and helps verify the system.
- You will investigate and document the customer's enterprise that clarifies their needs, motivations or expectations for the program/pursuit, and specifically for the architecture efforts that will guide future activities.
- You will review compliance documentation from the customer to ensure that needs are well understood, and the system architecture meets requirements from all stakeholders.
- You will be expected to develop work products and lead teams on EWS programs as the key program area systems architecture contributor.
- You will interface with the Systems Engineering team, Integrated Product Team Lead, Program Manager, Chief Engineer, and other stakeholders to ensure program objectives are achieved. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.
- Typically a minimum of fourteen (14) years of RF/EW/RADAR systems engineering design and requirements engineering experience.
- Experience collaborating with teams to support system lifecycle and product maturity (design reviews, internal gate reviews, independent reviews).
- Formal Systems Engineering (V-model; requirements, design, development, I&T, V&V) experience
- Extensive experience working on programs throughout various development lifecycle phases (IRAD, Technical Maturation, EMD, Production)
- Experience with working in teams of multi-disciplined engineers through various stages of the system lifecycle.
- Experienced presenter preparing and presenting reports and briefings both orally and written.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience in developing real-time EW systems with integrated software and hardware solutions. Understanding of architectural practices used to enable systems development with robust traceability and coverage of system requirements.
- Strong RF experience and knowledge of microwave modules.
- Experience with Agile DevSecOps delivery pipelines and software development principals.
- Experience in Digital Thread concepts and realization in the development lifecycle.
- Technical team leadership experience of minimum of three engineers.
- Earned Value Management / Cost Account Management experience.
- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
- Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
- Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
