- Inspecting demonstrator and production aircraft systems, equipment and parts for operation and conformance to government and company standards and specifications.
- Inspecting the installation and operation of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, and emergency systems and other parts and equipment of aircraft.
- Performing preflight and post-flight inspections in accordance with standard procedure on flight-proven aircraft.
- Approving non-flight-proven aircraft for flight. Inspects, adjustments, repairs, or modifications made on the aircraft.
- Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Performs non-destructive tests (NDT) on aircraft engines or components.
- Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts, and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasonic, penetrant, eddy current, shearography, thermography, and magnetic particle.
- Performs NDT on various aircraft structures and components.
- Inspect composite and metallic parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 6yrs additional education and/or experience in aircraft manufacturing, quality assurance, and nondestructive testing
- Currently or previously certified to NDT Level II in UT and ET in accordance with NAS-41 0 (documentation required)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to pass eye, medical, respiratory exams, and able to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
- Aerospace or aviation experience
- Able to utilize measuring devices including comparators, micrometers, scales, and calipers
- Familiarity with AS9100 , NADCAP, and other Quality / NDT auditing / accreditation systems
- Experience with MAUS systems
- Experience with Multiple brands of Flaw detectors strongly
- Experience in the interpretation of flaws in Composites
- Certification in other NDT methods
- Positive attitude and ambition to excel / advance in skills and knowledge
- Willingness to cross train in other NDT methods
- Ability to work extended or flexible schedule on short notice as needed.
- Able to work under general direction with minimal supervision
