The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) organization has a mission to create marketplace demand and drive commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative products, partnerships, marketing, and customer experiences. OnBrand – American Express’ In-House Creative agency – is on journey of exciting expansion. We are focused on developing forward thinking ideas and work across channels, end-to-end experiences in digital and beyond. The Digital Project Manager, OnBrand will report to a Sr. Digital Project Manager and have responsibility for the delivery of Integrated & digital campaigns. The successful individual will manage overarching project planning, creative strategy, creative execution, and production for digital experiences and integrated marketing campaigns. They will work collaboratively with OnBrand strategists, creatives, producers, developers, and account managers as well as Amex marketers, brand and business unit stakeholders (clients), and external Integrated Agency Teams to deliver best-in-class digital creative campaigns. To be successful in this role, the candidate must be solution-oriented and flexible. They must have experience creating, monitoring, and maintaining project plans for high-visibility initiatives requiring rigorous timelines with parallel workstreams, and always seek to identify opportunities for improvement. The candidate must have experience working with creative, production, and account team leads and guide all participants to achieve the highest possible standards. Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Directly manage creative planning, execution, and production for high-complexity digital projects and oversee Project Manager direct reports in executing medium and low complexity projects
- Leverage channel specific digital best practices to inform digital campaign executions – CRM, websites, Landing pages, media, social etc
- Lead the project delivery success with the execution of digital experiences across various platforms such as OneCMS, Moveable Ink, & SFMC
- Drive the execution of campaigns in channels such as social media, search engines, display advertising, and CRM.
- Collaborate and drive the development of comprehensive end to end digital project plans that is inclusive of all colleagues needed to complete the projects based on marketer expectations.
- Stay up to date with the latest digital marketing trends, technologies, and best practices
- Work closely with project team leads to proactively manage end-to-end project delivery (e.g., timeline management, risk assessment, and hard cost budget management) for a given set of projects
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and at the highest quality level
- Proactively assess any risks and escalate any issues if needed
- Manage handover of projects between the design studio and OnBrand teams, setting up project planning discussions, discovery facilitation, creative kick offs, creative, internal and marketer reviews and driving status meetings
- Partner with Account Leads and Creative Strategists to ensure client requests are feasible, in-scope, and in-budget
- Leverage agency systems and tools (e.g., Workfront) for overall work-planning, team communication, and project management
- Proactively support colleagues and collaborate with them to help achieve targets. Create a positive team environment through co-operation.
- 5+ years of experience as a Creative Project Manager from a leading creative agency or in-house brand
- Strong knowledge of creative production (print, digital, emails, OOH, branding)
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent follow through and ability to keep projects on track and delivered on time
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies
- Ability to adapt quickly and be open-minded to learning new skills and adaptable to changes to workflow. Comfortable using various project management essential systems and tools like - CMS, Excel, Google and Microsoft suites, Smartsheet, etc.)
- Ability to work with a Project Management tool (e.g., Workfront)
