The Director of Strategic Relationships Lead will work closely with the department Vice President and the entire Sponsorships team to sell sponsorships to the Salesforce partner ecosystem. This role will also include a direct fundraising responsibility working closely with Salesforce's Office of the CEO and the UCSF Children's Hospital Philanthropy team to create and sell sponsorships for the USCF Benefit at Dreamfest. This successful senior sponsorship sales professional will be responsible for achieving a direct annual fundraising goal as well as supporting the broader Sponsorship team remit.The Director, Strategic Relationships Lead will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and identifying new opportunities for sponsorships. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute sponsorship strategies that align with Salesforce's business objectives. In addition, the Director will be responsible for tracking and reporting on sponsorship sales and fundraising progress, as well as providing regular updates to senior leadership. This role requires a highly motivated and results-driven individual with a strong background in sales, fundraising, and relationship management.Responsibilities
- Represent Salesforce as a global software, cultural and thought-leading brand to create high-impact ways for our ecosystem partners to activate with us through sponsorships and UCSF Fundraising
- Work cross-functionally with Strategic Events, Office of the CEO, and executive sponsors to understand client needs, objectives, etc.
- Own sales process from prospecting to deal close, building and maintaining deep, long-lasting relationships with key sponsor decision-makers & executives to drive ongoing value through upsells and renewals
- Own Salesforce sales dashboard updates for UCSF Children's Hospital Philanthropy team and own all sales updates and ongoing communications in partnership with Sponsorship's sales leader and team lead
- Responsible for tracking and reporting on sponsorship sales and fundraising progress
- Develop sales material narrative, pitch to client decision makers, structure deals, negotiate deal terms, close and work with legal to execute contracts
- Project manage the delivery of all elements of your sold sponsorships in collaboration with the execution arm of the Sponsorship Marketing team and the UCSF Children's Hospital Philanthropy team and from time to time complete programs from an execution standpoint
- Leverage established rate cards and asset valuations to structure, price, successfully negotiate, and close deals that will help meet or exceed revenue and key account goals
- Ideate, build and package 360-degree solution-based sponsorships based on a client’s needs, objectives & feedback in collaboration with the strategy team
- Occasional travel to support onsite execution and best-of-class partner experience
- Oversee contracts, invoicing, and accounts receivable or develop processes to ensure execution and collections
- 7-10 years of related work experience
- Strong natural selling and / or fundraising skills with proven experience in pitch and strategic positioning
- Proven track record of negotiating with the ability to improvise and get creative
- Must have the ability to network and cultivate c-suite relationships while working efficiently in a fast-paced sales environment
- A natural understanding of the presentation and proposal development process with strong storytelling skills
- Proven experience effectively working with teams across multiple departments, time zones, and functions
- Extreme attention to detail and project management experience
- Working knowledge of the Salesforce partner ecosystem
- Expertise in identifying opportunities, developing strategies and negotiating creative solutions with proven track record of solution selling pedigree and contacts
- Can solve problems and demands quickly and with confidence but also know when to pause and ask for help
- Demonstrated ability to present to internal and external leadership and overall strong presentation building skills
- A flexible schedule with the ability to travel to events and site visits to support as required
- Understand the beauty of working as a team, the team dynamic in every respect is a non-negotiable
