What you'll do at Fincentric
The primary responsibility of this position is to foster effective project delivery that supports our customers and colleagues using Agile methodology. The ideal candidate will be one who leads by example and knows how to bring out the best in people and to act as a galvanizing force.
How you'll do it at Fincentric
Take ownership of Project Delivery for specific initiatives from kickoff through to delivery and successful launch
Utilize your Agile Project Management skills to manage and lead strategic complex projects of work across multiple delivery teams
Draw from your deep well of agile practices to work through agile teams to create success for the projects you lead
Take deep accountability for delivery, including ownership of milestone tracking, forecast of delivery, risk and dependency management
Appropriately escalate risks and dependencies that could jeopardize the success criteria of initiatives to create paths forward
Drive transparency and predictability that ultimately lead to successful delivery against roadmaps
Partner with team level leadership to advocate for what a project needs to be successful
Ensure required teams gain understanding of initiative requirements and appropriately considers sequencing, timing, dependencies, etc as you work through them to construct milestone plans
Take accountability for planning that ensures iterations lead to accomplishment of project delivery dates
Utilize an understanding of involved teams focus within committed iterations
Escalate team impediments and dependencies to technology managers
Ensure and facilitate cross-team coordination, facilitating scrum of scrums and other required project cadences
Inspect and adapt between project iterations, identifying clear actions and making any needed pivots to ensure success throughout the course of a project
Track and improve overall project status, health and metrics, reporting internally to the teams, group leadership, and senior management, as well as externally to clients as needed
Provide visibility and transparency toward delivery against a roadmap of work and a milestone/sprint plan
Provide additional reporting as required by teams and clients
Coordinate project demonstrations of completed work
Guide project release planning and coordination
Effectively communicate with internal and external clients both verbally and written
Skills and Experience
Leverage your 3+ years of experience working with Agile teams and agile project delivery.
Ideal candidate has worked with various agile teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.) with demonstrated ability to build trust and respect across teams and organizations
Ideal candidate has project management experience in an agile environment, demonstrating ability to ask critical questions and hold teams and individuals accountable and on track toward successful deliveries.
Ideal candidate has experience presenting project status to top level leadership
Ideal candidate has working knowledge of Fincentric capabilities and data
Strong knowledge of relevant agile metrics and charts (e.g. burndown, velocity, burnup, CFD) and ability to interpret them and utilize them to ensure successful delivery of projects
Expert working with JIRA or other equivalent issue/project tracking software and related tool sets.
Proven analytic and problem-solving skills including a thorough understanding of how to help teams break down work based on project needs
Proven ability to drive the success of a project that has slipped off track, helping teams identify paths required to get back to green
Proven verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively to customers, managers and technical staff
Experience conducting and leading client facing meetings/workshops, creating and managing expectations, as well as delivering against expectations
Experience in the Financial, Software, and/or Digital sectors strongly preferred
Experience and/or knowledge with multiple agile methodologies
Passion and curiosity to thrive in innovative, collaborative, fast paced environment
Experience guiding team(s) with problem solving, removing barriers and addressing challenges in support of project execution and delivery
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
