What you will do:
As an experienced contract management professional with the ability to understand, analyze, and communicate complex contractual negotiations, you will be working with both internal customers and external suppliers with the goal of executing agreements in Stryker’s favor. You will need to have the ability to frame risk profiles accordingly and draft language that addresses the business’ concern, while also protecting Stryker’s overall interests. You will provide time-sensitive, solutions-oriented, strategic contracting support to the Global Quality & Operations (GQO) Organization in a manner that manages business and legal risk and enables opportunities.
Draft, edit, review, and negotiate contracts on behalf of the GQO Organization.
Support internal and external customers in a timely manner and fast-paced environment
Advise internal customers on contracting, legal, finance, and business strategies as well as company policies and procedures
Identify business and legal risks and propose solutions for mitigation, escalating issues for legal review and resolution as appropriate, and representing Stryker’s interests professionally and in a solutions-oriented manner
Exhibit solid negotiation skills, including comfort negotiating contract terms directly with suppliers and other third parties.
Build and maintain strong relationships within the GQO organization and the Global Legal and Compliance function
Exercise excellent judgment in identifying and escalating issues to management
Develop and maintain a full understanding of the GQO organization and business units
Monitor and track status of contract-related matters and proactively provide updates
Become proficient in use of Contract Lifecycle Management software and provide training and guidance to others related to its use and adoption
Identify system or process improvements that increase efficiently, compliance, or reduce cost to the business
What you need:
Bachelor’s degree preferred however in lieu of a degree an additional six years' experience will be considered.
Minimum 2 years of professional experience needed for this role.
Prior experience as a Contracts Specialist specifically in the procurement arena strongly preferred.
Possesses and practically applies broad knowledge, skills/abilities, and understanding of disciplines within business application, including contracting, process, and negotiation.
Complete high volume of complex work in a timely and thorough manner with minimal rework
Ability to show discretion and maintain confidentiality
High proficiency in computer systems and programs such as the Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn Stryker-specific systems
$75,300 - $156,900 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
