The US Consumer Operational Risk team’s mission is to enable business growth by implementing a robust risk assessment and controls framework that drives superior customer experience, accountability, and a strong control environment. The critical enablers of the team’s success are deeper engagement at a product and process level, and collaboration with business partners to foster a culture that strikes the right balance between risk, controls and accountability.
This role will support in driving excellence in the application of the Operational Risk Framework (e.g. comprehensive risk assessments, implementation of robust preventative and detective controls, and making pragmatic decisions to resolve issues). The role will also collaborate with colleagues from various organizations to drive key programs and deliverables related to Operational Risk management.
How will you make an impact in this role? Senior Analyst, Operational Risk - Global Dining role will lead first line of defense operational risk activities to ensure our customer promise comes to life for our Card Members.
- Support team on large-scale Operational Risk programs like New Product Risk Assessment, M&A, Privacy programs, Corrective Action/Loss Event Resolution and Process Design and engineer, Risk Assessments, control design and implementation etc.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of cutting-edge technology, learn best practices by reviewing industry trends and publications, receiving/attending compliance training, and networking with professional advisors, experts and peers.
- Help implement the next generation of control testing and monitoring – use automation, key risk indicators and set thresholds for review or action for different risk types.
- Identify trends, themes, tendencies that indicate emerging operational risks by analyzing data and trends in relevant metrics, loss event data and external events.
- Self-starter along with passion for continuous Innovation with a view to drive organizational improvements and impacts
- Has the ability to work with unstructured tasks/ risk pillar and provide a structured output
- Independent, self-motivated, with an ability to adapt and be flexible in a team environment
- Data-driven mindset and experience in the manipulation, assessment, interpretation, and presentation of data to support a conclusion
- Knowledge of banking products and/or technology sector experience (Fintech, Consumer, Enterprise, Hardware) preferred
- Working knowledge or desire to learn about operational risk processes
- Comfortable with change, ambiguity, debate, conflict, and informed risk taking
- Multi-tasker who can manage multiple streams of work concurrently
- Maintains a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize/multi-task
- Bachelors or master’s degree in business, Engineering or Science, preferred
