Function Description American Express is on a journey to provide the world’s best customer experience every day. The Commercial Data Office (CoDO) team, within Global Commercial Services (GCS), is focused on powering the best customer experience and business growth through data. With continuous changes in the regulatory environment and innovation through data evolving, CoDO plays a skey role in strengthening GCS critical enablers and supporting new opportunities. In partnership with the Enterprise Data Office and across GCS, CoDO is tasked with building new, innovative data solutions for our customers, while adhering to regulations and data management best practices. The team’s scope is comprised of 3 pillars:
- Drive Strategic Growth & Revenue – Defining the vision and roadmap to transform data as a key asset to power business growth.
- Modernize Data Management – Ongoing data management, data discovery and collaboration across Global Commercial Services
- Ensure Health of the Commercial Business – Striving for 100% reliability of current data platforms and capabilities while developing more agility and scalability for the future
- Enable GCS & American Express Initiatives: Partner with collaborators to translate initiatives into actionable product roadmaps and features.
- First point of contact for engagement for our business and internal/external customers & partners.
- Align business needs to Organization’s Vision & Priorities, ensure Objectives and Key results are set inline and assess the Key performance indicators basis same.
- Build business partnerships across GCS and Amex.
- Work on Business Value Assessment, build Product Strategy and Roadmap to align with business priorities.
- Create Product vision and strategy for the Commercial Data Platform and share across customers & partners.
- Be in charge of the Product backlog, work on prioritization & Delivery Plan
- Understand business goals, convert it to refined business architecture with scalable and futuristic approach.
- Build and implement Go To Market, NPG, Marketing & Launch strategy. Lead the communication around the new product developments.
- Lead the development backlog using Agile Scrum methodologies, prioritizing features based on business value and user impact.
- Leverage/build reusable frameworks and scalable architectures that promote efficiency and consistency across product development by understanding futuristic needs.
- Break down complex functionalities into well-defined features and optimize product architecture for efficient delivery.
- Lead all aspects of the entire product development process, from requirement feasibility assessments and discovery & design phases, to development, delivery, and product release enablement.
- Establish a framework for define product success, defining and implementing critical metrics for new product development!
- Create comprehensive and clear product documentation, including technology specifications and user guides.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in product management or a related role
- Strong problem solving skills
- Consistent record to design and implement scalable & reusable product solution
- Ability to perform comprehensive root cause analyses
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and social skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively and collaborate with multiple partners & team members
- Ability to build & leverage relationships and influence broadly
- Outcome driven with strong project management skills and ability to work on multiple priorities
- Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Solid understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) principles
- Thorough and analytical approach to problem-solving
- Experience with issue tracking and resolution processes
- Experience with Agile development backlogs and user story creation
- Proven ability in product development, solution architecture, or an equivalent.
