We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer where you can use your broad Air Traffic Management skills and radar expertise to help shape and deliver the future of safe and reliable global airspace management. What YOU will do:
- You will join a multi-discipline team and help with planning, technical strategy, and execution in the area of primary and secondary air traffic control radar systems.
- You will work closely with internal, customer, and subcontractor teams shaping current and future roadmaps and programs as they modernize and advance.
- You will work in current and new technologies to help meet evolving global needs and priorities.
- You will support full life cycle systems engineering activities from IR&D, pursuits, development, integration & test, transition to production, and sustainment.
- You will grow and adapt your skills alongside global customers and industry to help achieve long term modernization goals and help shape policy and requirements.
- You will learn and help advance ATS’s modernization technology approaches with a heavy concentration in primary and secondary ATS radar.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
- Must have 15 years of experience in a systems engineering, including development, integration, and test environments.
- Must have 10 years of experience with engineering and product development of primary and secondary radar systems relevant to Air Traffic Control systems.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under portions of the applicable contracts/programs. Other citizenship situations may be considered where they would still permit FAA/US DoD program participation.
- Though a remote position, ability to travel to US and international locations for meetings and system activities is required up to 50% of the time.
- Prior experience with US and international RTX radar systems.
- Prior experience working with FAA and US DoD customers and requirements.
- Knowledge of working with FAA and US DoD acquisition processes and pursuits in the Air Traffic Management field.
- Be on a career break of one or more year at time of application.
- Have prior experience in functional area of interest.
- Have interest in returning in either a full-time or part-time position.
