Department profile

Investment Products & Services IT (IPSIT) delivers technology solutions and services, primarily supporting the Investment Products and services business within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. The technology is mainly aligned to those businesses, which include Mutual Funds and 529s.

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Technologist with experience in designing, developing and supporting applications using latest technologies and tools (Angular, Spring Boot, Spring Core, SQL Server, Apache Solr etc). She/he will work closely with the global team and will help build next generation applications/platforms supporting critical front office functions.

The Right Candidate

• A full-stack hands-on Technologist with 10+ years of hands-on experience in building and supporting enterprise applications.

• Solid hands-on experience in building applications using Java and Spring related technologies.

• Experience in developing web services using standard Java based frameworks/toolkits (REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML).

• Has a good understanding of asynchronous requests, multithreading and related issues and ways to resolve them.

• Experience building applications, using the modern web development tools including JavaScript frameworks such as Angular 4+ and frameworks such as Bootstrap, SASS, LASS etc.

• Good understanding of DB concepts and experience working on SQL Server (or other RDBMS).

Required Experience: 10 to 15 years

Skill Set

Primary skills

• Working experience of Angular 5 or higher.

• Strong Core Java and Advance Java.

• Working experience of Java 8.

• Strong problem solving skills with ability to analyze and understand data.

• Strong programming fundamentals.

• Working knowledge on Spring and Spring Batch.

• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL.

• Should be able to demonstrate clear understanding of OOPs in practice.

• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux, shell-scripting and Excel.

• Ability to forge strong relationships and coordinate effectively with multiple parties.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

• Detail oriented and organized.

• Experience working in a virtual or global team.

• Self-starter and ability to multi task with a -can do- attitude.

Good to have skills

• Python exposure may be helpful.

• Experience on BOXI Report and scheduling.

• Knowledge of python modules – numpy and pandas.
