Profile Description
We’re seeking someone to join our FRPPE Tech team as a JAVA Developer, in Operations Technology . The role within the Global Transaction Reporting team is for a java developer to join the team in Mumbai. The role will be part of a global dynamic team building systems that are critical to the business, solving problems to meet the ever-changing regulatory environment.

This is Associate position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:
You will work primarily as an application developer as part of a collaborative agile development team, with mentorship and coaching of more junior developers forming a part of the role
You will be required to create, improve and maintain the firm’s strategic global Transaction Reporting systems
You will find your colleagues are passionate about “getting it right first time”, whilst they are also pragmatic enough to adopt an iterative MVP-style of approach to software delivery
You will be required to liaise directly with a variety of stakeholders throughout the firm
You will be contributing to business critical applications where performance, accuracy and resiliency are of high importance
You will be required to develop functionality in an iterative fashion, liaising with the business analysts, product owners and other developers within the agile squad
You will be principally working on a modern microservice based platform, built from the ground up using Domain Driven Design, following an event-based architecture.
You will be responsible for continuously improving the quality and maintainability of our system and codebase including code reviews and refactoring where necessary.
You will be expected to interface with the Global Confirmations & Statements development team, other development and Enterprise Infrastructure teams, as well as Operations Line and Projects teams
What you’ll bring to the role:
Passion for server-side Java development
Sound understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis, Design Patterns and Programming
Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to learn rapidly
Ability to understand complex business problems, evaluate, recommend and deliver technical solutions to both business and systematic issues
SQL, Relational Databases (DB2/Sybase)
Testing (Junit, AssertJ/Hamcrest, Cucumber, BDD, mocking frameworks)
Fundamentals of Spring
Working knowledge of Unix/Linux
Working knowledge of messaging, pub/sub communications
Build/CI –Ivy/Gradle/Maven/Sonar/Jenkins/Hudson/Git
Domain driven design and micro-services experience
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good organization and coordination skills
Highly motivated, ability to proactively and independently identify and resolve issues and deliver solutions
Team player
At least 2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.

Angular/Ext JS web development experience
PowerApps
Snowflake/Cloud Technologies
Concurrency Control and Transaction Management
Enterprise Architecture Patterns, GoF design
Works well in a dynamic, fast paced environment
Experience in banking and regulatory reporting (EMIR, MIFID, SFTR, MAS, CFTC etc.)
Knowledge of OTC, listed and cash products
Domain driven design and micro-services experience
