Finding a new career outside the military is a top priority for many Veterans. But while service members have highly valued skills and talents, transitioning to a civilian role can be rough.
For starters, corporate communication and leadership styles can differ vastly (many military acronyms and certifications do not easily translate to the corporate world). More than that, finding belonging in a new culture can be overwhelming.
Expedia Group understands these challenges and fully embraces Veterans trying to bridge the gap from military to corporate. They actively participate in Hire Heroes USA and formed VETS, their employee-led Inclusion Business Group (IBG) that supports Veteran team members and their families.
Expedia’s Tyler Roth (Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner), Tashana Lopez (Diversity Sourcing Partner), and Greg Bradshaw (Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition) will share how to make the transition smoother, from showcasing the soft skills that don’t immediately jump off your resume to building a solid support system.
You’ll take away:
Greg Bradshaw is a Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition at Expedia, where he leads a Recruitment Delivery Team for AMERS, with a focus on supporting sales roles. Greg is an active member of Expedia's Inclusion Business Groups and brings a wealth of experience as a U.S. Navy veteran and Talent Leader. He plays a pivotal role in driving Veterans Hiring Initiatives as part of the company's holistic DE&I recruitment strategy.
Tyler Roth is a Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner at Expedia Group and is a proud US Air Force Veteran and retired military spouse. She is an active member of the Veterans Inclusion Business Group and holds a deep passion for providing support to all veterans and military spouses.
