Meet Donovan Brady, a Solutions Architect on the Professional Services team!

What is your favorite thing about Logicworks?

I love our sense of community, especially during these unprecedented times. It's difficult for our teams to feel like they are included and connected, but Logicworks is doing a great job by hosting happy hours and creating as many virtual events as possible to keep everyone engaged and together.

What's also great about Logicworks is that even if we're not in the same department and don't normally work together, we all have a really strong connection to each and every employee.

What is your role at Logicworks?

As a Solutions Architect, I help customers transform their business when they migrate to the cloud. At the start of a new solution, we look at every aspect of the customer's business. Once we figure out their requirements, we create a framework in the cloud. Our goal during this process is to make sure that our customers feel secure. Many customers that are moving to the cloud have never been in this type of atmosphere before, and have a little trepidation. Our customers have seen how big name companies have experienced security breaches and want to make sure that Logicworks will keep them safe. So, they come to me and find out why we're the right ones for the job.

What's a typical day like for you?

Most of my day is spent in customer discovery meetings, where I'm finding out what the customer needs and how we can help them accomplish their goals. When I'm not in meetings, I put together the solutions, the design, the cost calculations, and estimates of what we think the solution will look like.

My team and I also work with other departments to implement and improve processes so we can have an easy transition from pre to post sales. This will ensure when the customer speaks with any Logicworks employee throughout their engagement with us they will get the same answer.

What is the most exciting part about your job?

My favorite part of the job is working with the customers. I love when the solution I created for them is exactly what they're looking for and that I have properly eased their concerns, that's the most rewarding part!

What shows are you currently watching?

Right now, I'm rewatching Psyche, Royal Pains, Suits, Burn Notice and Chuck from NBC. I'm a huge USA Network fan; they use the same motif and formula for all of their shows. Typically, the main character is the best in the world at what they do, whether it's a skill or a hobby. Each episode has a different plot but they all revolve around an overarching storyline.

Donovan's Music Corner

Before joining Logicworks, did you have any fun or interesting jobs?

One summer, I worked as a camp counselor! I'm an athlete and a musician, so this job allowed me to play baseball and teach music to kids for an entire summer.

Where is your favorite travel destination and why?

My favorite travel destination is Boise, Idaho. It's a niche location, but it's a really cool college town. All of the bars overlook a large mountain range.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

Outside of work, I'm a musician. I grew up as a classically trained pianist and my Dad was also a musician, so he taught me everything he knows. I sing, I can play the saxophone, the drums, and pretty much any instrument!

Did you always know you would be in the technology industry?

Even though I have a musical background, I diverted away from music because show business is a difficult field to be successful in. I always knew I wanted to go into the technology industry, and since I was a kid, I always wanted to work at Google. I knew right out of high school that I wanted to go to college to study computer technology and software engineering to get my dream job, but I found Logicworks through an internship and never looked back.

What advice do you have for someone looking to join the cloud computing industry?

My best advice is before joining the cloud industry, get your certifications. Partner up with a friend and get as many certifications on as many platforms as you can. The actual studying for the tests is much more valuable than the tests themselves.
