An Inside Look at Our Event with Mastercard
PowerToFly was thrilled to recently partner with Mastercard on our first event with this iconic enterprise which was also our first event in the lovely city of Vancouver. Held on April 16th at Steamworks, our over fifty attendees were greeted with a tech talk and panel discussion, lead by women tech leaders at NuData Security, a Mastercard Company.
After networking over refreshments, the evening officially kicked off with a keynote address delivered by Derek Houg, Vice President, Business Process Improvement and Harsimran Kapoor, Director, Human Resources Business Partner. Next up, Sunny Khera, Senior Engineer Software Engineering, presented an engaging tech talk entitled "Digital Protection for an Open World".
We then moved into the panel discussion portion of the evening. Moderated by PowerToFly's Cristina Duke, the conversation included from Mastercard:
- Melissa Douglas, Director, Software Engineering
- Kate O'Loughlin, Senior Analyst, Information Security Operations
- Candice Chan, Consultant, Data Scientist
- Sara Farquharson, Consultant, Software Engineering
After an extensive audience Q&A, the evening concluded with more opportunities for our guests to network with their peers and members of the Mastercard team.
Mastercard is truly committed to creating a culture of diversity and inclusion. Forbes magazine called them one of "America's Best Employers for Diversity - 2018" while they also honored as one of the "Best Places to Work for Millennials - 2018" by The Women Choice Awards.
