Checkr's mission is to "build a fairer future by improving the understanding of the past." The company was founded in reaction to an awareness around the discrimination prevalent in the background check industry. Checkr aims to eliminate bias in background reporting, especially concerning individuals with criminal histories. From product features built to help match candidates with fair chance employment opportunities to Checkr's own nonprofit initiatives led by Bounce Back to Work, this company believes that a person's past shouldn't bar them from a bright future.
