The 2018 Winter Olympic opening ceremonies may not start until tomorrow, but to say we're excited would be an understatement. Did you know, that it wasn't until 2012 that women were allowed to participate in every Olympic sport? 2018 also marks the return of women's ski jumping, which was banned until the 2014 Olympics after the president of the International Ski Federation explained to NPR that the sport "seems not to be appropriate for ladies from a medical point of view". Thanks to women like Lindsey Vonn, and 15 additional accomplished female jumpers, a lawsuit was filed and women's jumping was reinstated.
