Refresh, Reframe, Reboot: How to Succeed in your Career Launch, Relaunch, or Pivot.

In our talk, we will explain the key foundational steps to making any career change – including pursuing first jobs, jobs after career breaks, and jobs in a new function or industry. We will teach attendees how to get started on their job search (and it’s NOT writing a resumé), how to be seen by employers (and it’s NOT by applying online) and how to stand out in an increasingly crowded and competitive applicant field. A template (PDF) will be provided to reinforce the lesson and for attendees to use in preparing their own career plans. Mindful of the fact that professionals in early career, those returning to work after breaks, and those pivoting into a new field or role, are less assured and often less comfortable pitching themselves, we will also discuss the mindsets that can sabotage sound job-hunting – and how to overcome them.

Susan began her career in Fortune 50 Tech where she rapidly moved up the ranks from producer to manager to staff roles, and earned many top performance honors. After taking a career break to care for her children, she became a pioneer for the flexible workspace as a partner in a consulting and recruiting firm, Flexible Resources, Inc. Later, she ran a robust executive coaching practice. She is a LinkedIn Learning author-instructor and the co-founder of Prepare To Launch U -a learning company that provides instruction, inspiration, and community to women navigating work-life transitions along the continuum of life.
