Her passion for advocating for maternal health equity and building programs that aim to improve outcomes for women, people of color, vulnerable patients, and marginalized communities has been a common thread throughout her highly-respected 30 year career. A healthcare strategist, medical practitioner, champion of diversity and inclusion and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Larkins-Pettigrew lectures frequently, regionally and internationally, and appears on television to discuss women’s health issues. She is also the author of an autobiography, The Colors of My Heart: Embracing My Blackness with History, Family, Fear, and Faith.
