Whats Working, What’s Needed
In 2015, love won. As great as that is, it’s not a panacea for all LGBTQIA+ struggles, especially for those in the world of athletics. It’s still a cishet sports world, and ESPN host Steve Mason will explain what that looks like in practical terms, and how we can create culture and policy that make being part of the world of sports an inclusive experience for everyone.

Bridget FinkeldeySteve Mason, is one of the finest and most experienced broadcasters in American today. Steve is a mental health advocate speaking openly about his 2002 bi-polar diagnosis. He also came out as gay on ESPN in 2015. He has co-hosted the nationally broadcast “The Late, Late Show” with Tom Snyder, anchored “Good Day LA” on KTTV Fox 11 in Los Angeles, hosted morning drive radio on WNEW in New York, anchored 7 Olympic Games for NBC, and since 2004, he has co-hosted “Mason & Ireland,” the #1 rated radio sports show in Los Angeles where he has interviewed everyone from Kim Kardashian to Lebron James. In 2019, Steve established the CulturePop Podcast with stand-up comic Sue Kolinsky
Hunter Canning
Bridget FinkeldeyHunter Canning is a New York based actor, puppeteer, producer and photographer. A conscience citizen of the world, his ethos is bringing people together through all the facets of his life. Be it producing live performance downtown, creating corporate recruitment content or photographing portraiture, red carpets and live events; Hunter has a passion for bringing people together to foster growth, kindness and a true understanding of each other.
Raised in the outer canyons of Los Angeles, Hunter has been a professional actor in New York for the past decade. Notable credits include Broadway’s War Horse (Lincoln Center), Blue Bloods (CBS), The Baker & The Beauty (ABC) and Ray Donovan (Showtime). A career that has seen dizzying heights, all the while remaining with his two feet on the ground.
