Home to Inclusion: From the U.S. Air Force to Making Home Possible

Supporting Veterans, Active Service Members & Military Spouses

This session features a financial services industry leader who is advancing a more inclusive future for veterans. Hear from Freddie Mac’s John Emans as he shares his career journey – from the U.S. Air Force to Freddie Mac — and ways he’s helping to advance other employees, especially veterans, while making homeownership a reality for more families across the nation.

John Emans

John Emans is a Mortgage Servicing Policy Business Lead within Servicing Portfolio Management in the Freddie Mac Single-Family Portfolio and Servicing Division. In this role, he is part of a team that is responsible for creating policy for all aspects of mortgage servicing at Freddie Mac. This includes updates to the Freddie Mac Seller/Servicer Guide and other terms of business.

Additionally, John serves as the Chair of the Military Appreciation Business Resource Group.

Prior to joining Freddie Mac in 2013, Mr. Emans served in the U.S. Air Force. He led teams that conducted intelligence analysis to meet national security objectives and evaluate unit readiness and compliance with Air Force directives.

Mr. Emans holds a Master of Science in business administration/management from Troy University and a Bachelor of Arts in criminology from The Ohio State University.

In 2023, he received a Veteran Leadership Award from Profiles in Diversity Journal.
