Diversity, Equity, Inclusion in Communications Speaker & Consultant

After stints running employee communications at PayPal, GoDaddy, and GitHub, releasing a documentary, and lecturing on media theory and production at San Jose State University, Kim is dedicated to teaching, consulting, and coaching people about being conscious in communications. As a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) communications consultant, she helps content creators and people managers understand that if we aren't conscious in our communications, we're probably causing harm. She's co-authoring the book, The Conscious Communicator: the fine art of not saying stupid sh*t (releasing summer 2022). Description: Identifying and Dealing with Microaggressions in the Workplace I have spent most of my career in straight male-dominated work environments and dealt with constant microaggressions. At first, I didn't realize how much they impacted my confidence and even access to projects and promotions. Eventually, I learned how to deal with them and as a DEI communications consultant, I've learned that no matter how inclusive a company may desire to be, microaggressions will undermine belonging and we have to learn how to deal with them head-on.
