DIVERSITY REBOOT SERIES 2024: Amplifying Black Excellence

Oh, 4/20. Dare we say a marijuana holy day. The sky will be filled with cannabis clouds as masses gather far and wide; from every walk of life to partake in every form of medicine imaginable. Legalization continues to sweep the country. For many cannabis consumers, the biggest concern on 4/20 is hitting the dispensary before the line gets too long.

But the legacy of 4/20 goes beyond suburban white kids getting high in public. Cannabis culture in its purest form is a rebellion and a protest. Prohibition hasn’t ended. Black and brown people still do not have justice from the War on Drugs.

Cannabis lovers, we still need to be disrupting oppressive systems. Bring your favorite form of our beloved plant and join Kelly Perez and Courtney Mathis co-founders of Cannabis Doing Good for a walk through cannabis history and a call to action for our future.

Kelly Perez + Courtney Mathis

Expanding upon their years of consulting experience, Kelly and Courtney founded Cannabis Doing Good in 2018 to provide an accessible platform that enhances the industry’s ability to implement programs for racial, environmental, and community justice. What was once a small consultancy, kindColorado, has now blossomed into a larger movement for social change.

Cannabis Doing Good still offers private consulting in addition to their newly launched membership platform featuring perks like the Racial Equity Self-Assessment, CDG Badge, Anti Racism Virtual Modules, Live Antiracism Training, and monthly workshops. As the market changes, CDG continues to evolve with 2022 promising the release of their Environmental Justice Self Assessment.

In this chat, you’ll learn:
The social and political factors that birthed 4/20
Why racial justice is the center of every cannabis cause
How you can carry on the revolutionary spirit of the cannabis legacy.
