To discuss building your own brand, we sit down with Marqueeta Hughes, a Dubai based designer who founded a customizable footwear label that is all about inspiring and empowering other women to drop all the labels society wants to give women, live life on their terms, and look fabulous while doing so.

Sanmaya MohantyMarqueeta Hughes is a Dubai based fashion designer and stylist whose work can best be described as a reflection of her international exposure and lifelong journey with art, fashion and travel. Her first collection serves as an ode to her life’s departure from social expectations, presenting a totally unique and customizable footwear label that aspires to empower women through its functionality and form.
Whilst her work as a stylist uses fashion to encourage women to “live life on their own terms and look fabulous while doing so”, Marqueeta is a living example of her own philosophy as she climbs to the top ranks of the industry's most promising talent. Marqueeta has gained a Fashion Marketing and Management Degree from the Art Institute of California, before continuing to an MBA from Hult International Business School in London.
Marqueeta is a multi-faceted entrepreneur and well-respected stylist who uses her skills to life-coach women and create ‘intuitive’ pieces as part of a capsule collection to help her clients & customers to achieve their style & fashion goals, one stylish step at a time.

Limor has 20+ years of experience in software engineering, and 10 out of them in leadership positions. Before PowerToFly, Limor worked at Digital Ocean, managing the computer engineering organization. She is passionate about empowering women and helping women grow and excel in their careers.
