For this conversation, we are thrilled to be joined by Guillermo Tramontin to discuss attracting LGBTQIA+ folks for careers in the field of biotech, a market that is expected to expand to a $2.4 trillion industry by 2028. Guillermo will also discuss combating the global challenges of acquiring LGBTQIA+ talent, the importance of asking questions, managing commercial urgency, how to demonstrate psychological safety, and ways to improve engagement in the 'silent talent' pool.
With a Master's degree in Cancer Immunotherapy and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Guillermo began his career as a Scientist at the Institut Pasteur, where he worked on vaccine and antibody development projects for solid tumours. Guillermo leads the R&D and Preclinical division at Cavenagh Health, a patient-driven executive search firm specializing in building PE-backed biotech organizations in the US, UK, and Europe, working closely with the leading European VC firms to ensure successful partnerships and growth within their portfolio companies.
