This talk will explore how we have used data and technology to understand and support the LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship community. The conversation will cover how we created our methodology and how we use the data to provide actionable insights. We will also share key findings to date as well as policy implications. Overall, attendees will learn how data and technology can be used to encourage support of marginalized communities.
Bridget FinkeldeyIrene (she/they) is a Program Director at StartOut, the leading national nonprofit accelerating LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship, where she oversees research and insights. She product manages the StartOut Pride Economic Impact Index which analyzes the impact of LGBTQ entrepreneurs on the economy, uses data to generate recommendations to improve those outcomes, and displays what they could achieve with equal access. Prior to StartOut, she managed programs at Google, learning and development projects at CBS Interactive, and led the nonprofit project Nice Queer Pals. She holds dual BA’s in Economics and Psychology from the University of California - Berkeley, and a Product Management certification from the Haas School of Business. In her spare time, Irene likes to support her local community, play basketball, learn pickleball, and spend time with her family.
