On April 17th, PowerToFly collaborated with Audible for our third event at their Newark, New Jersey headquarters. The night centered around two comprehensive tech talks lead by Audible's mobile leaders that provided deep dives into the Audible platform and general best practices for mobile tech. Before and after the presentations, attendees were free to network with their peers and members of the Audible team while enjoying amazing food and refreshments.

The night kicked off with a welcome address by Jeff Kobos, Sr. Director, Software Development; Huijie Miao, Sr. Manager, Software Development and Chandana Kanchangari, Sr. Manager, Software Development who greeted out attendees and acted as hosts throughout the evening.

The night's first tech talk centered on Kotlin Multiplatform and was led by Software Engineers Ankit Somani and Pedro Veloso. The second presentation was from Software Development Engineers Ana Ma and Sunayna Jain and focused on Accessibility in iOS. After each talk, our attendees had the opportunity to ask questions directly to presenters.

The night wasn't over! Attendees stuck around to enjoy more networking time and the event concluded with a raffle of two Amazon Echoes for a couple of lucky attendees.

A truly global company, Audible's worldwide community downloads almost two billion hours of material annually. 50 diversity & inclusion survey questions you need to ask

Diversity and inclusion survey questions are tricky. To get at the information you’re looking for, they can’t be too long, too numerous, too specific, too vague, or too repetitive. You need to create that Goldilocks-style “just right” kind of survey. Diversity and inclusion survey questions also need to be rooted in a larger data collection strategy that informs why, how, and how often you survey your employees. Too often, and responses drop off. Too infrequent and your data doesn’t reflect a proper sample.

Above all, you want to get at the heart of if and how your Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) efforts are having an impact. Bear in mind that every organization’s environment is unique. Today, we’ll share sample diversity survey questions that work. Remember, modifications should be made as appropriate. To make things easy, we’ve also included a diversity and inclusion survey template to power your survey efforts from start-to-finish. Ready to get started?

And overcame self-doubt along the way

Daniela Toia always had big aspirations for her career. But with them came self-doubt.
