PowerToFly was thrilled to partner with S&P Global to present an intimate evening of learning and networking in Charlottesville, Virginia on November 7th. PowerToFly strives to produce events that are equal parts informational and inspirational and this event was no exception as the women who attended got first hand insights and career advice from some of the best and brightest in tech in S&P Global's Charlottesville office.

S&P Global is exactly that, global. They are hiring in locations as diverse as the Philippines, Pakistan, India, United Kingdom, Singapore, and throughout the United States. Whenever we speak with an S&P Global employee, we instantly sense just how much she loves working for this company. That sentiment was on full display at our Charlottesville event.

Our event began with a chance for our guests to network a bit and of course, enjoy some delicious small bites. PowerToFly's Caroline Turner officially kicked off the event by welcoming our attendees before turning the microphone over to to the evening's keynote speaker, Nick Cafferillo, S&P Global's Chief Technology Officer & Chief Operating Officer for S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Next up, Caroline segued us into the heart of the evening: a panel discussion featuring a diverse segment of S&P Global's women tech leaders. Our amazing leadership panel shared workplace advice, broke down their own personal career journeys, and discussed how they maintain a strong work-life integration. The distinguished panel for this event included:

  • Aleks Hagy - Sr. Director, Project Management/Business Analysis
  • Meredith Polson - Sr. Business Analyst
  • Kerry Guerrero - Sr. Data Scientist
  • Jodi Barrington - Sr. Manager, Software Development
  • Autumn Wade - Director, IT Project Management

After taking questions from the audience, our panel stuck around to continue to network with our attendees, answering additional questions on everything from their current projects to the culture at S&P Global. Soon it was time for our guests to depart into the crisp fall night but the whole team at PowerToFly can't wait to continue our journey with S&P Global.
