We stand with you
Tragic events over the past several months have painfully reminded us all that, in the midst of COVID-19, the racism pandemic continues to plague us. From the tragic shooting of Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia to the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week, I am heartbroken that such hate and divisiveness persist in our world.
These terrible events go against everything Turo stands for. We will not tolerate any acts of racial injustice at Turo or in our community — such acts are simply unacceptable and go against our longstanding nondiscrimination policy. We commit to standing up for what is right. We stand for diversity, inclusion, and belonging. We believe in connectedness and supportiveness. Diversity is strength. Inclusion is required. Belonging is critical.
In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to discussing how we at Turo can promote diversity and inclusion in our workplace and among the Turo community. While institutionalized racism is not an easy problem to solve and certainly not one that will be solved overnight, we must be part of the solution.
Whatever your country of origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, marital/military/parenthood status, whatever disability you have, whomever you are, you are wonderful, and valued, and loved, and you each have a place here at Turo.
