PowerUp - inclusive communication

We’re excited to introduce our newest course, “Inclusive Communication.” Designed to equip learners with essential skills and techniques, this course focuses on fostering conversations and interactions that embrace diversity. From adopting inclusive language to navigating communication challenges, users will learn how to ensure their vocabulary, body language, and listening skills align with inclusive and accessible communication best practices.

The course offers a blend of video and written lessons, complemented by downloadable resources such as the Inclusive Language Guide and Inclusive Language Kickstart.

  • Passover: Passover is an eight-day Jewish holiday in commemoration of the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. It’s a special time for those who follow the Jewish faith, a time to gather with loved ones, reflect on the past year, and celebrate the present. If you have Jewish colleagues, make them feel included and supported during this time. One way to support them is by wishing them a happy holiday and asking if there's anything you can do to help them celebrate. You can also learn more about the holiday and ask them questions about their traditions.

22 - APR

  • Earth Day: Earth Day promotes world peace and sustainability of the planet. Events are held globally in support of environmental protection of the Earth. You can check more initiatives on sustainability here.

  • St. George’s Day: St. George’s Day, the feast day of St. George celebrated by various Christian churches 24 Armenian Martyrs’ Day recognizes the genocide of approximately 1.5 million Armenians between 1915 and 1923 in Turkey.

  • Mental Health Awareness Month (or Mental Health Month): Mental Health Awareness Month (or Mental Health Month), which aims to raise awareness and educate the public about mental illnesses and reduce the stigma that surrounds mental illnesses. More resources to come on our next edition.
  • Asian Pacific American Heritage Month: Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in the United States. The month of May was chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843, and to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869.   • Jewish American Heritage Month” Jewish American Heritage Month, which recognizes the diverse contributions of the Jewish people to American culture.

  • Cinco de Mayo: Cinco de Mayo, a Mexican holiday commemorating the Mexican Army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861–1867). This day celebrates Mexican culture and heritage with a variety of festivities, including parades and mariachi music performances. Consider organizing a learning event or webinar to showcase your Mexican workers.

17 - MAY

  • Malcom X Day: Malcom X Day, A holiday celebrated either on May 19th, his birthday, or on the third Friday in May, to commemorate the Civil Rights leader. Learn more about Malcom here.
  • International Day Against Homophobia: International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, a global celebration of sexual orientation and gender diversities
